Camp Expert is a free, no-account trip-planning app for iPhone and iPad. By downloading or using the app or this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Camp Expert on Apple devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the standard EULA), which applies to the app as downloaded from the App Store.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app except where permitted by law; (b) use the app to violate any law or third party's rights; or (c) misuse the third-party data sources the app relies on (for example, by scraping or overloading them through the app).

3. Campground data & estimates

Camp Expert displays campground information from third-party sources, including Recreation.gov (the Recreation Information Database) and OpenStreetMap. This information is provided "as is" and may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate. Distance and drive-time figures are rough estimates (straight-line distance at an assumed average speed) and are not navigation directions. Always confirm campground availability, rules, access, and routes with the official operator before you travel.

4. No professional advice

Camp Expert is a planning aid. It does not provide safety, legal, or navigational advice. You are responsible for your own decisions, safety, and compliance with campground and land-management rules.

5. Your content

Trips, notes, checklists, ratings, and diary entries you create stay on your device. You are responsible for that content and for backing up your device. We do not access, store, or control it. See our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual property

The Camp Expert name, logo, app, and this website are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. Third-party data and trademarks remain the property of their owners and are used under their respective licenses (see attribution below).

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The app and website are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the campground data will be accurate or complete.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the app or website, including reliance on campground data or distance estimates.

9. Changes

We may update the app and these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
